AM I…?

In the dark
When I feel we’re worlds apart
I remember that I’m in Your heart
With You
You’re all I’ve got
If I really had to count the cost
Not a second or a minute is lost
With You

You never ever change
You’re the great I Am
You always stay the same
And I won’t forget
You are light
You illuminate and give me life
I can see the sparkle in Your eyes
For me
In the night
When I’m broken I will fix my eyes
You’re defender and You win the fight
For me

When I’m empty You overflow
In the wreckage Your word is gold
In the valley You are my strength
In the battle My victory
In the chaos You are my peace
In the desert My only drink
Fearless I’ll take a stand
My God Is the great I Am

No kingdom No power No ruler
Can stand against the great I Am
No army No weapon No evil
Can stand against the great I Am
No sickness No pain No depression
Can stand against
No hunger No fear No injustice
Can stand against
No kingdom No power No ruler
Can stand against the great I Am

Christ is the great I AM

and with Him

I am all of the above

Just to choose a few, I will tell you why.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16

It may be difficult to believe Jesus loves you because of other people who have let you down in the past. However, Jesus is unlike any other person; He is God in human form John 1:14. He was involved in creating us, He sustains our every breath, and He offers us new life now and eternal life in heaven with Him.

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”  2 Timothy 1:7

“For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”  Isaiah 41:13

“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”  Psalm 118:6

Fear can be paralyzing.  Fear is, at least, crippling if it dominates our life.  If we act out of fear, we most often make wrong choices.  Fear is forced upon us by the enemy.  Freedom is offered to us by Jesus.  Fear or freedom?  I choose freedom.  I choose fearless faith in Jesus that brings freedom.  Fearless faith is utmost confidence in God.

The word “blessed” means “happy or inward joy”.

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lordand who meditates on his law day and night.  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”  Psalm 1:1-3

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.”  Psalm 32:2  The joy of forgiveness.  When we confess to the Lord our sins we become happier, knowing that there is no sin beyond God’s ability to forgive.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  Jeremiah 29:13
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”  Matthew 7:7

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.  Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.  He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”  Psalm 37:3-6

I have come to know that through my prayers, thanks and walking with my Lord, He has given me blessings which I know can only come from Him.  He has blessed me beyond what I probably deserve.  The more faithful I am to Him the more blessings I receive.  I read my bible daily, I seek Him in prayer when I need someone to talk to.  If any anxiety comes on me I just pray and ask Him to be with me …and before you know it He is there.  He has answered my request and calmness comes.  It’s hard to explain because it may be different for everyone.  But this I know for sure, I wouldn’t have what I have in this life if it weren’t for God’s blessings and love because I am His.

“Then God said, “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness”.”  Genesis 1:26     “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works and that my soul knows very well.”  Psalm 139:14  “He has made everything beautiful in its time.  Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.”  Ecclesiastes 3:11

I am beautiful because I wasn’t made for this world but for the next.   The beauty is inside each of us.  Beauty in the eyes of God isn’t the beauty that society sees.  God’s beauty goes far beyond “skin deep”.   God doesn’t make junk.   “Do not let your adornment be merely outward – arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel – rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”  1 Peter 3:3-4

Forgiveness is joy.  “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.”  Psalm 32:1    “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”  Acts 3:19

I am forgiven because when my heart was so hard that I couldn’t see the salvation offered me, I was blind.  I would go my own way and life was dark and troubling.  The thing of it was that God knew I belonged to Him and I knew I belonged to Him and all I had to do was confess all the wrongs I was doing and surrender to His love for me.  So I made a new covenant with Jesus and a lightness to life and an abundance of blessings and joy just took over.  I now had purpose and would even gain more by reading God’s Word and over time, I would learn and knowledge would follow and being forgiven just rolled away the burdens.  What Happiness!  I am fully His now and I know I will be with Him in heaven as my name is written in the Book of Life.

Those who practice sin won’t be in the Book of Life, but those forgiven will be written there. As Malachi points out, those who fear God and think and talk about Him will be recorded. “Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on His name.”  Malachi 3:16  Those whose names are written in the Book of Life are those who receive salvation.  And the Bible shows that God has a plan that involves giving everyone a full chance to repent and be saved, when we love Him.  “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”  2 Peter 3:9

As Christians we are all of the above “I Am’s”.

Why?  Because God said it.  And we believe it!

And for those of you who are not Christians, Jesus is waiting for you.

Bring your sins to His cross.

That’s where mine are

They are nailed to the cross,
They are nailed to the cross,
O how much he was willing to bear!
With what anguish and loss
Jesus went to the cross,
And He carried my sins with him there.
