I refuse to leave as I came
I refuse to remain the same
Lord for you there is nothing I won’t change
I refuse to leave here unchanged
I refuse to worship in vain
Lord for you there is nothing I won’t change
If you delight in sacrifice, I would bring it to you
But my sacrifice O God, is a broken spirit and a contrite heart
A broken spirit and a contrite heart, as I worship, as I lift my voice
I’m making decisions, making decisions
To win the lost and surrender all
I’m making decisions, making decisions
To learn to grow, to deny myself and carry my cross
To be faithful all the days of my life.
No more worldly sorrow, no more waiting for tomorrow
No more running Lord, no more hiding God
It’s not about the motions, I’m making decisions
It’s more than just a feeling, I’ve made a decision
Right here, right now, whatever the cost, whatever the cost.

It seems these days that we are confronted with choices every which way we turn.  What shall we have for supper tonight? What shall I put on today? What am I going to do for the rest of my life?

What flavour of ice cream, there are so many.   What brand of running shoe, will it be comfortable or fashionable?  What kind of car should I drive, new or used, how much can I spend?

Can’t decide if your male or female?   It is a choice you make.

Will you keep the baby or not?  It is a choice you make.

Either one it is a choice you make.  These could be choices you will have to live with.

Actually, with so many choices for so many things it’s almost mind blowing!!!!!!

Sometimes we find ourselves in circumstances that overwhelm us and we feel powerless in the ability to turn them around – to change direction – but know this…YOU have a Choice.

Decide what’s important and what’s not…YOU have a Choice.

Decide what God considers important for us – make the choice to love God and everything else will fall into place.  Mark 12:30-31,  Jesus said, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.  This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”  Besides loving God and our neighbour, He is giving us permission to love ourselves.  Not in a selfish way, but just be good to ourselves.  We are our hardest critics.

Make two lists:  God’s Will for You  /   Your will for You.

Instead of hanging on a rope dangling in the wind – choose God’s desires for yourself and make them your desires too.   YOU have a Choice.

Once you can clarify what’s best in life, then choose.  Yes, we have limitations as humans, however, with God all things are possible.  God chooses what’s best for us, so why not choose His way for ourselves.

Another thing God wants for us to remember when making good choices is not to worry about what someone else chooses.  Yes, you can pray for them, that they will make good decisions for themselves, but think about yourself.  The choice to live moment by moment with our focus on Jesus, helps us not to worry about what Jesus is asking someone else to do“…What is that to you?”  John 21:22

A tale of two rulers.  The two rulers are the Lord Jesus Christ and we as human beings, who seem to choose self-rule as a way of life.  Some surrender to the lordship of Jesus, others choose to rule their own lives.  (Read Philipians 3:7-11, Paul’s decision that All is for Christ.)

Remember Joseph, in the Christmas story, he found out his intended, Mary, was with child even before they started their life together.  But he had a choice, to either quietly send Mary away or, to make the decision to stand by Mary and for God — it wasn’t an easy choice, yet with God’s direction and guidance, Joseph made his choice.  Matthew 1:18-24

Who rules your life? Choose today to submit yourself to the lordship of Jesus.  Let your life be a tale of only one Ruler.  Mark 10:21b, “…Come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”

Ask yourself this question “What kind of life does God Bless?”  You can answer that question by the Choices you make in this life.  Friendship and Fellowship with Jesus is a good Choice!

If you want to know more about the plans God has for you, get to know Him first, pray this prayer and ask Him into your heart

We may have many choices in life, but they are not all good ones.

God has many choices for us and has promised to bless us abundantly,

when we choose His !

God is a God of second chances, He will never forsake us when we come to Him.

One last thing.  Reflect on this past year of 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic.
How stressed were you?
Walking with Jesus day by day can make 2021 a beautiful year, and every year thereafter.
