I’m waiting, I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I’m waiting on You, Lord, though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait
I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I’m waiting, I will serve You
While I’m waiting, I will worship
While I’m waiting, I will not faint
I’ll be running the race
Even while I wait
I’m waiting, I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful, I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it’s not easy, but faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting on You, Lord

We all can’t stand waiting on something.
What are you waiting for?
waiting for the shops to open, waiting in line, or waiting on better weather
maybe you’re waiting to graduate,
or waiting to find that dream job
Maybe you’re waiting for someone to tell you what to do…you want to be spoon-fed…there are many who will do that for you. They will pigeon hole you, put you where they think you should go…they might check on you from time to time or maybe never. Do they even care?
“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.” Psalm 37:7
Or maybe you’re just waiting for someone to give you everything on a silver platter…
Don’t hold your breath, unless you were born rich it probably won’t happen…and then even if you were….would you be truly happy?
“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Matthew 16:26
Maybe you’re waiting to come to the Lord. Maybe you think you have plenty of time before you die. I’ve know people who put off coming to Jesus and have passed away and I think where will they go, what happens to them. Didn’t they make things right with the Lord? (Don’t wait till your on your death bed.)
Are you waiting until things get better, you’re life isn’t working out just right at this present time, but if you just wait things will change for the better? Take it from me, it won’t without Jesus. You’re broken, unredeemable, so far gone there is no coming back to good things…Think again! Romans 8:18, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Why wait…come to Him now.
In my brokenness…and I was broken…Jesus guided me through it all and He brought me out of it and into a life where I really don’t need anything…I was in mire and felt unworthy…and He took what was left and cleaned me up and I must say I cleaned up pretty good. You ask what did He give me?
He gave me love.
He gave me a loving husband. He gave me a sweet home to live in.
He gave me purpose.
He gave me a talent and a will to create these tracts to share with all of you.
And coming back full circle He gave me love for others. To tell you He loves you too and all He’s done for me He’ll do for you. So what are you waiting for. Take that leap of trust in Jesus…the relationship you have with Him will settle all the unknowns. The mire around you will fall to the bottom of the tub and you too will clean up pretty good. “I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1 Now I’m asking you …why wait.
God could have gotten Joseph out of prison one year after he was sentenced there. Instead, he was stuck in that dungeon for 10 years before he was finally set free. He waited 13 years from the time Joseph was sold to Egypt to the time he stood before Pharaoh.
God could have given Abraham the son He promised him when he was still a young man. Instead, He waited until he was 100 years old.
God could have made David become king the day after he was anointed. Instead, He waited 15 years to rise to the throne, many of those years living as a fugitive, hunted by the king, with his future in doubt.
God could have spoken to Moses in the desert about sending him to help free His people from slavery 40 days after he ran away from Egypt. Instead, He made him wait for 40 long years.
God could have answered prayers and met the needs of these men of God much quicker, but He didn’t. He made them wait instead. And He often makes us do the same. Why? Because He wants to build our faith; to build our trust in Him; for when the storm keeps raging and the battle keeps going.
Waiting however requires patience. As they say Rome wasn’t built in a day and things just don’t happen with a blink of an eye or a twitching of the nose. But if you wait on the Lord, He will give you rest. Matthew 11: 28-29, “Come to Me all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Wait on the Lord and what you need He will provide. Matthew 6:8, “…For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.” Isaiah 40:31, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings of eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Lamentations 3:26, “It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” When David prayed in his time of trouble, he realized how dependent he was on God’s provision. In humble submission he sought the Lord’s presence, His counsel, His friendship and then he resolved to wait for and do whatever God told him to do. Psalm 27:14, “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
Two kinds of waiting here: i) God is waiting for you to receive Him and His love; so don’t put it off; and ii) God is waiting to shower you with all kinds of blessings when He knows you are ready for them.
And one more important thing to remember while we’re waiting on God, is to not just wait but to actively wait. Serve, worship and be faithful with what you have, where you are, even while you wait.
