Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me
All His wondrous compassion and purity;
O Thou Spirit divine, all my nature refine
‘Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.
Let the fruit of the Spirit be seen in me
Grant me grace all sufficient that I may be,
True and faithful each day, every step of the way
Pointing souls to the Saviour on Calvary.

Salvation, in one definition, is used for help from harm or peril. Salvation, in another definition, is a lifeline for redemption, deliverance, saving when it comes to your soul and the consequences of not having it.
What is the Reason for Salvation?
It’s when God reaches down to us. Before we let God into our hearts and life, we are dead spiritually. We are deceived by evil forces, living a lie. We are disobedient, rejecting what we know to be right. We are defiled by the love for this world. In essence we are doomed! Without Jesus we are dead, hopeless and lost. By Grace through Faith: Ephesians 2:1-3, “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among who also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.” These were the reasons God had to reach down to rescue us.
The Remedy for Salvation is “God”.
With God everything changes. Ephesians 2:4-5, ” But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by Grace you have been saved).” We are all sinners, lost and in need of saving. God provided that lifeline, life preserver, salvation, by Jesus dying on the cross for us. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God’s Love is so rich and great and is a free gift. God’s Grace is something that we are favoured with from God which we don’t deserve and His Mercy is withholding the punishment that we do deserve. Everything changes with God.
What must I do to be Saved and receive Salvation?
Be Born Again.
Nicodemus, was a Pharisee, a ruler of the Jews and he asked the same question to Jesus Himself. John 3:1-21 is the story of new birth. Nicodemus asked how could a man be born again when he is old. Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb? Jesus’ answer was simply that he needed to be born of water or the Word of God and the Spirit. If not, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. It is a matter of the heart. Jesus also told Nicodemus about earthly things, that Nicodemus didn’t believe, so how could he believe about heavenly things from God’s Spokesperson, who he needed to believe, that through Him he could be saved. While it is important to note that God loves everybody, not everybody accepts that love. Jesus is that love. But if Jesus is not lifted up and believed, in faith, how can they receive eternal life. John 3: 14-18, “…even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life…for God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved…He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
Grace is a Free Gift
We once were all lost in sin, but God supplied a divine prescription for rescuing us. His rich mercy and grace produced a free gift that is ours for the asking, in faith. For All I Trust Him. Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by Grace you have been save through Faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” You don’t have to pay for it with money, but it is hard. This world offers many temptations that are outside of God’s plans for us and it is up to us and our trust in Jesus to walk in the ways He shows us in His Word. This means we need to read it and apply it to all aspects of our life; family, work, school, the way we treat others and the way we treat ourselves. Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Further read Proverbs 3:7-35: guidance from a father to his son.)
