With or Without God

If you curse me, then I will bless youIf you hurt me, I will forgiveAnd if you hate me, then I will love youI choose the Jesus way
If you’re helpless, I will defend youAnd if you’re burdened, I’ll share the weightAnd if you’re hopeless, then let me show youThere’s hope in the Jesus way
I follow JesusI follow JesusHe wore my sin, I’ll gladly wear His nameHe is the treasureHe is the answerOh, I choose the Jesus way
If you strike me, I will embrace youAnd if you chain me, I’ll sing His praiseAnd if you kill me, my home is heavenFor I choose the Jesus way
And I choose surrenderI choose to loveOh, God my Savior, You’ll always be enoughI choose forgivenessI choose graceI choose to worship, no matter what I face

Would you like your burger with or without fries?

Would you rather drive a convertible in the rain with or without the top up.

So how are you doing life…With or Without

Are you omitting God in your plans.   Planning on human ingenuity alone will fall short.  James 4:13-14, tells us, “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow.  For what is your life?  It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”  Plan things with God as your partner, like He is right behind you.  Life is complex.  Life is uncertain.  Life is short.  Job 9:25-26 tells us, “Now my days are swifter than a runner; they flee away, they see no good.  They pass by like swift ships, like an eagle swooping on its prey.”  Psalm 39:5, “Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You; certainly every man at his best state is but vapor.”  A handbreath is the measure from the thumb to the little finger.  Because every person’s time on earth is short, God’s people invest their days so they will count for eternity.

When you don’t rely on God, you get detours that could go very wrong for you.  Life is like the flower of the field that grows up on day and is gone the next. Psalm 103:15-16 tells us, “As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.  For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.”  When you do life with God, and include Him in your plans…“God willing” is a phrase on your lips that lets God help you toward your goal, the one He has determined for you.  In the Lord’s prayer Matthew 6:10 says, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”   When we become Christians, the Spirit of God takes up residence in our hearts, which is the kingdom of God within us, helping us to do life with God more.

We see “God removed” a lot in this world.  Even in our own lives, the farther and farther we get away from God, the more we get depressed, the more we focus in on the iniquity, shabbiness, unfairness and the bad of life.  We start to see life as a burden instead of seeing God in His creation and His glory in so many things.  But doing life with God we do have a hope, through a relationship with Jesus. We have a sure firm foundation.  As a result, the things that bring fear or despair, they will not affect us when we put our faith in Him.  God’s plans are far beyond what we could plan for ourselves.

When we do life with God, we read His Word and He provides through it the wisdom and knowledge He wants us to have for this particular time in life.  Knowing “everything”  is too much, like chasing the wind.  We know Christ could come at any moment and the pressures and prosecutions we face while we wait make us more diligent to live the way He intends.  To be serious, clear minded and watchful, is a great motivation for holy living.  Keep in touch with God, pray in every circumstance, happy or sad, confused or clear minded.  It pleases God to hear from you.  Jesus told us in Matthew 7:7-8, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”  Jesus asks us to use these three commands: ask, seek and knock, continuously because when we do God responds.  Jesus is saying ‘keep on keeping on’.  Be persistent.

When doing life with God, His promises are at work in your life, even during trying moments.  You say: ‘It’s impossible’ – God says, “All things are possible with Me.”  Luke 18:27.  You say: ‘I’m too tired’ – God says, “I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28-30.  You say, ‘Nobody loves me’ – God says, “I love you.” John 3:16.  You say: ‘I’m not capable of doing this on my own’ – God says, “I am sufficient.” 2 Corinthians 9:8.  Just see how many areas of your life are more worthwhile, positive and rewarding, with God than without Him.

If you are doing life without God, perhaps you would like a closer relationship with Jesus.  By praying this little prayer, with an open heart, and a desire to do life with Him, you can start having that bond.  Start your walk with Jesus, read your Bible daily, pray your hearts desires, He waiting to hear from you.  And for further spiritual guidance see the page “Spiritual Support”.  There are others who can help.
